Wake Up for Peace – UN International Day of Peace
Stand with millions of people across the world by attending a group meditation at Federation Square in celebration of the United Nations International Day of Peace. The common purpose of the meditation will be to join other Melbournians and silently create intentions for peace in the world. There will be guest meditators as well as classical musicians to provide a calming atmosphere for the meditation. Be part of something special with this event on Monday September 21st. Active Nation Day
Lorna Jane Clothing is hosting Active Nation Day on Sunday September 27th to promote the importance of health and fitness all over the world. Melbourne’s event will be held at Federation Square and will include a group fitness class and market stalls to rehydrate and refuel after working out. Very Special Kids Piggy Bank Appeal
Throughout the month of September, Very Special Kids will be campaigning to raise much-needed funds for children with life-threatening conditions and their families. There are many ways to get involved, from making an online donation to organizing and hosting an event. In an evening aimed at destigmatising mental illness in the entertainment industry, stars of stage and screen will be coming together on Monday September 21st at Her Majesty’s Theatre for an unprecedented event. Hosted by Julia Zemiro, the night will include performances from some of Australia’s most talented artists and will facilitate a discussion on mental illness. Ultimately focused on education and awareness, mental health experts alongside celebrities will discuss the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how to be of assistance. Bookings at Ticketek!

 
Dogs of the World Morning Tea
Bring your furry friend along to South Melbourne Market on Saturday September 12th for a delicious treat and a lesson on doggy nutrition.  There will be information available about the importance of premium quality pet food which will ensure the well being and life span of your pooch. Unleashed Festival 2015
Unleashed Festival returns to Melbourne in September and promises to be another inspiring series of events for young people. Run by the Foundation for Young Australians, from September 21-26th Federation Square will be taken over by social change activists, innovators, thinkers and doers, all seeking to impart their skills and connections onto other young people who are passionate about society.
